HOLA! I'm Daniella Mini and I write about parenting my son with multiple disabilities, education, aging, family and anything worth pondering.
This is me with Diego, the frequent protagonist of my stories:
I started publishing here and on a personal blog because my husband and "typical" son Andres kept insisting I should, saying that others would be interested in the writing I'd been sharing with them.
At first, I wrote only about parenting, from the beautiful to the dreadful. Because I was a teacher for 17 years, I then began to write about education.
From there, I branched out to any topic that fascinated me at the moment. For instance, during the pandemic, I took a deep dive into Stoicism and published a short post based on Seneca's Letters from a Stoic for thirty days straight.
The truth is that the more I write, the more ideas I want to put to paper, and the better at this craft I long to get.
Here are a few facts about me:
Age and family situation: I'm 54 years old. I've been married for 32 years and have two sons, ages 30 and 28.
Nationality: I'm American, Venezuelan and Italian. I grew up in Venezuela and immigrated to the US at age 30.
Careers: I was a translator, then teacher for 17 years, and currently a special education advocate helping parents navigate the special education process.
Favorites: yellow, running, blue whale, chocolate peanut butter ice cream, the reminder that at any given moment, "The rest of my life starts now."
I invite you to get an email whenever I publish by clicking here, and to follow Special Nation, where I publish all my stories about Diego and the special needs world.
THANK YOU!
