I didn’t pick my fingers for 30 days straight!
I have what’s known as dermatillomania or skin-picking disorder. It’s one of the various body-focused repetitive behaviors, which also include lip biting and hair-pulling.
I wrote a whole post about it:
Yesterday, I finished a public 30-day NO FINGER-PICKING challenge. I posted a picture of my thumb on Instagram every day. I know, weird.
Here’s the image of days 1 and 30:
Not gonna lie. It was mighty hard, plus I know the progress can be reversed in a matter of two days.

What takes a lot of effort to accomplish is so darn easy to cancel. Hope I don’t backslide.
