I didn’t pick my fingers for 30 days straight!

I have what’s known as dermatillomania or skin-picking disorder. It’s one of the various body-focused repetitive behaviors, which also include lip biting and hair-pulling.

I wrote a whole post about it:

Yesterday, I finished a public 30-day NO FINGER-PICKING challenge. I posted a picture of my thumb on Instagram every day. I know, weird.

Here’s the image of days 1 and 30:

Not gonna lie. It was mighty hard, plus I know the progress can be reversed in a matter of two days.

As Seneca noted, “The growth of things is a tardy process and their undoing is a rapid matter.” (Letters from a Stoic)

What takes a lot of effort to accomplish is so darn easy to cancel. Hope I don’t backslide.
